I'd ride this.
The only ford I would drive is the Ford GT, and I would take that over a hella lot of cars.
Where did you get that? Was there info about it?
Wow... looks good.
ford version of the mazda 6 methinks
Aussie Ford Fairlane. Looks pimp in terms of luxury and design. Clean surfaces and simple lines.
Btw, the Ford Aus site is absolutely horrible design.
Future cop cruisers?
Large Ford sedan sold in Australia/Oceania. Think Crown Vic from Down Under.
And yes, the Ford site for Australia sucks huge nuts.
looks like the Crown Vic if it was made by Lincoln
that's pretty pimp...my friend used to have an old fairlane, that thing was awesome to cruise in
Damnit, I was hoping they were bringing it to the US.
That'll be the Futura
My grandpa had one of those. Except it was a crusty old piece of shit. I can still picture it... tan with tan vinyl interior.
"Even though it's a Ford" = <insert many words here> nazi
Got more pictures of it? Interior?
Unfortunately, no. Like I said, the entire website sucks goat balls both in terms of content, design, and navigation.
Search for it yourself. You'll get glimpes of it if you click on the Refinement link.
I was harrassing the Ford people at the San Jose auto show last week about bringing the Falcon to the US.
It's RWD, and comes with either the 4.0L 6 (XR6 around 200hp), 4.0L Turbo 6 (XR6T, around 320hp), or 5.4L V8 (XR8, around 350hp).
Instead we get the crappy "Ford Five Hundred", 200hp 3.0L AWD
The Falcon looks a bit like the Holden Monaro maybe it's just the rims.
The Falcon and the Holden Commodore (Monaro is the 2dr version) are direct rivals in Aus. Especially in the V8 Supercars racing series.
Ford Falcon V8 Supercar:
Holden Commodore V8 Supercar:
The Falcon doesn't have what it takes to compete with the Accord and Camry in North America, those are the volume sellers here, and Ford needs a car that can go head to head like the 500.
But fear not, Ford is also considering selling the Falcon here as an ethusiast niche vehicle, ala GTO, and I hope they do.
I've never seen a Ford car with a 5.4L under the hood stock.
I wouldn't exactly say the 500 is crappy. It's just not a performance family car like the Falcon. Fast and practical.
Forgot about the Commodore... I was watching some of that racing on the speed channel the other day too
Wednesday nights at 7pm.
Got the Tivo programmed.
