I've been bulking for a while now. I started at 154lb with a nasty beer gut, now I'm 184 and my belly pokes out a bit... or I might just be bloated from all the food. I can't do any cardio if I still want to gain muscle mass right? Even if I just get my heart rate up to like 135 and do that for an hour is it a bad idea?

I'm currently eating 5000 cals, 320g protein or so per day, 500 carbs, and I guess too much fat. I'm currently taking cee/di-arginine in hopes of seeing 201lb some day. Should I cut then bulk again? Fack!

    Thanks for the help.

You can and should do some form of cardio. However, you probably wont lose the gut until you are in a deficit of some sort

So I should propably watch caloric intake, since I now have a desk job, and maybe do light cardio pre-work-out? I don't like this gut, but I really want to get muslce mass going, hence the creatine.

How much cardio is too much? I should focus on like 13-140bpm right?

You could probably tone your diet down quite a bit. I'm 6'5" 205lbs and 4000 calories puts me at a surplus.

Cardio is absolutely fine if you’re bulking. Some people find it helps them keep the fat addition to a minimum. When I was bulking, I tended to do 20-30 min of light cardio in the morning.

How many lbs/week are you adding on average?

i'm getting like 2lb per week. Now that I'm on creatine, hopefully it will be more consistant. I think I'm going to cut back on calories, and just make sure I get 2x the protein.

Well, you’re putting the pounds on at a rate that is just fine so your caloric intake sounds ok.

Unless your some genetic freak (which you might be if you’re putting on 2lb/week @ 5000cal), you don’t need 2xBW for protein, more like 1-1.2X. Hell, I’m cutting and I’m only getting 1.4X.

Try changing only one variable ata time (cardio (calo. Burnt), caloric intake, protein intake), that way you know specifically what is effecting the change. I’d try doing some light morning cardio, and leave your caloric intake the same and see how it effects you. Then change other variable after a little while if your still not seeing the effects you want.

I think you've completely missed the basics of what calories and specific macronutrients do for you.

You're gonna add fat when eating enough calories to full support muscle growth. The fat in food isn't what's making you fat. Adding in cardio isn't going to magically keep you from gaining fat, yet allow you to add muscle mass just as fast.

Also, you might want to do some more reading on what creatine does for you.
