Interesting flick, a script with new ideas, and great cinematography. But somehow it was missing something.

I give it a B-, but the people I went with liked it more.

I loved it! I thought the filming of it was great and that the story was awesome. I think Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet were excellent. Their relationship was so real. It was one of those movies that's kept me thinking about it since I left the theater.

I liked the movie, would have loved it had it started quicker, took a little too long to get me interested in it, but once I was it got really good.

I saw it today and loved it. Kaufman's style has definitly matured since Being John Malkovich.

Awesome show...I can't get enough of Indie Films! Both Jim Carey and Kate Winslet are spectacular, but by far the greatest aspect is how the movie is filmed. I think of the Barnes and Noble scene and slowly everything is disappearing...and also at the beach house.

Awesome show...I'd have to say A- personally.

very different from anything I've seen lately. I loved Kate Winslet's character. It was overall very intriuging. I think I'll see it again to understand more of, although it seemed to flow well. I'm very impressed with Jim Carrey, I wasnt sure he had it in him. :wiggle:

  12. Ok so i just saw the movie last night. I wish i had half the creativity and half Kaufman's talent with writing. I thought Carey was awesome in it and definitly deserves an Oscar nomination. Kate Winslett was alright. Nothing fantastic but she was good enough to add to the movie. I just loved the way the whole movie was done.

But what I think the best thing about the movie was (besides the whole idea) was the cinematography/special effects. It added so much to the movie. I don't think the movie would've been half as good without it. Movies like the Matrix and stuff like that have special effects that enhance the movie but don't add anything to the storyline really. But with this movie, the cinematography and special effects were almost like another character in the film. Just an all around awesome movie.

With this film, Charlie Kaufman may have become the best screenwriter in the past 25 years. I mean, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, and now this!! He's a genius.

Warning: The movie may cause short term memory loss. None of the people I watched the movie with could remember where we parked our cars after the movie was over.

The sad thing though, is that comedians (Jim Carrey) definitely don't get the respect that they deserve. Granted, Carrey's performance wasn't comedic (well mainly), but in general comedians don't get the credit they deserve.

    Sad, but true.

Best movie I've seen in a long, long time. Every scene was not wasted and meant something. The whole movie made me think about a number of "what if's". This definitely is not a typical Jim Carrey movie one bit. I really hope this movie gets at least nominated, if not win, best picture. I highly recommend everyone to go see this very fulfilling movie. :bigok:

I liked it, but honestly didn't think it was anything special. I liked Big Fish (which I just saw cuz I'm 6 months behind the world) a lot better.

I haven't seen Big Fish yet, but I did download the DVD rip of it over the weekend. I need to burn it on a CD and play it on my Home Theatre PC sometimes this week. :big grin:
