I used to think of live albums as supplemental and not necessary to an artist's catalog. But lately, I'm getting more into live rock albums. A few that I have and really enjoy are:

    AC/DC: Live
    Iron Maiden: Live After Death
Metallica: Binge & Purge and S&M
    GnR: Live Era '87-'93
    Kiss: Alive III
Judas Priest: Unleashed in the East
    Black Sabbath: Reunion
    Pantera: 101 Proof

Any other live albums that are "must-haves" in classic rock/rock/hard rock category?

The reasons why you like those live albums is because many of them just aren't touring anymore... it's the only way to re-live it :p

Now-a-days, there aren't many MUST SEE concerts or... in your case... MUST HEAR. :/

Stick with the classics like you got there.

    Thanks for all the suggestions!

Definitely interested in the Megadeth, Dream Theatre, and have never listened to Iced Earth....but will check it out. :bigthumb:

Never really been a Rolling Stones fan. Not sure why, though...:dunno:

I am just now getting into Opeth and can't believe I hadn't heard their music before. I started listening to them because of Steven Wilson's work with them. I'm not usually a fan of the "Cookie-Monster" style vocals, but they are amazing. Will check out the DVD for sure. :hsd:

I have the Linkin Park Live in Texas CD/DVD, and it's alright.

Some of those nu-metal style/hard rock band's live albums just sound mudded out to me.

I have the Bob Seger and Ted Nugent albums and they really are essential. LOVE Nugent!

One of my goals in life is to differentiate Phill Collin's songs from Genesis' songs. I like his voice for that type of music, I just can never tell if the song is from the band or his solo records...

    Keep 'em coming... :x:
