    Im getting the message:

"disc could not be used because disc drive is not supported (error code 0x80020025)

when i put in a blank DVD-R disc. It seems like it can't read the disc in the finder and I am not able to backup anything because it cannot read the disc. :dunno: :dunno: I didn't get this message when using 10.3.9. Seems like 10.4 is causing this problem?

    The hardware list show's this:

    Firmware Revision: A707
    Interconnect: ATAPI
    Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipped/Supported)
    Cache: 2000 KB
    Reads DVD: Yes
    CD-Write: -R, -RW
    DVD-Write: -R, -RW, +R, +RW
    Burn Underrun Protection CD: Yes
    Burn Underrun Protection DVD: Yes
    Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, CD-Raw, DVD-DAO
    Media: No

It says Media: No ...is that causing my problem? How do I fix this?

You have the Superdrive? Ive only heard this problem from people who have external dvd burners like myself. I get that error when I try to to open a blank dvd-r with finder. When I insert my media, it asks me what I want to do. I tell it to open with Finder and then I get that error. :dunno: Maybe the soon to be released Tiger patch will help you out.

    Weird. :dunno:

Everything else works. (reading DVD Movies, reading CD music, burning music in iTunes) but it will not write or recognize a CD-R or DVD-R in the finder. ???? im stuck.

that update just came not too long ago. I was setting up my new G5 and it wasn't apart of the software update but when i started setting up my moms powerbook, it was an option.
