error code 0x8002006E when burning CD's or DVDs

    This must be a software problem, because I am using the same brand and type of DVD-R I have always used to burn, suddenly it isn't working. I googled the error code and it seems that many people have the same problem, with no fix.

    any sudden motion while burning? that has caused burn errors for me before

    had the same thing, had to replace my optical drive, powerbookrepair.com has the best prices

    internal drive, no motion...I think the drive works fine...its a problem initializing

    Going to replace the drive one of these days.

    I don't think it's the drive...It's been working fine recently, and seemingly it's related to some os x update.

    Mine worked fine too and then it just stopped. You could always try a cd / dvd cleaner disc.

    Umm I've read on a few sites that its a leopard problem... even though i just burned a cd the other day w/ no problems?
