Anyone else see this yet? It left so much out from the book. I didn't think it was all that great of a movie, your thoughts?:hsd:

    not that good.

Best terms to best describe the film:
    - faux-epic
    - rushed

The world the storyline takes place seemed soooo... "narrow" for lack of a better word. There were a few good guys, a lot of faceless depthless bad guys, and no neutrals and/or civilians.

The director should probably stick to visual effects.

I would have to say both...lol:dunno:
-If you have read the book I think that you will be more dissapointed in the film than if you had not read the book, due to the amount of things that are left out.
-The film is probably still not all that good even if you have not read the book.

In this case, book >>>> movie.
Firstly, it was wayy to short. They took a book that was genuinly epic, and turned it into a film that tried to be epic and failed miserably. They tried to convey the concept of the huge world, but in the end there wasn't enough depth to make the world seem as big as it truly was.
Too many scenes were left out, and the final 'battle' scene was just horrible.

For anyone who has read the book:

    *spoiler*

the dragon [forgot her name] doesn't evolve like a pokemon [jumps from baby into adulthood] in the book too, does she? that was ridiculous.

    *end spoiler*

    Most likely.

I haven't read the book in years so I didn't remember most of what I was missing. My nephew had just reread the book so he was majorly pissed about how much they had left out.

Maybe they should have cut it into 2 movies. Part 1 would end with Brom's death and Part II could feature a lot more of the final showdown and life in the mountain.

They didn't even include the twins!:nono:

They totally screwed this movie up ROYAL. I hated it and suggest that NO ONE who has already read the book go see the movie.

Save your money.....don't even rent it later. If you can see it for FREE then see it, but you will be disappointed like I have been.

I thought it was OK, maybe give it a C+. I read the book years ago and didn't remember most of it. I tookmy nephew who had just read both books and he was pissed with how much was missing and the translation to screen. It might have been better as two movies One movie would end with the rescue of the princess.
