Probably has been mentioned in here a few times, but if it hasn't i just recently saw it, and had to watch it a few times after it was so good. I caught something new each time. I wish its story was more strung out like the matrix's was, but then again it would probably get worse like they did. I actually found this to be better than the matrix, and the action scenes were more interesting even with no cgi.

Definitely recommend this movie if you liked the matrix, or like movies in general.

meh. it's a little dazzling at first but if you look past that it's the same old story that's been told billions of times. It has virtually no original ideas and just borrows from a bunch of different sources. Matrix, 1984, Brazil, V for Vendetta, etc.
if it had some better writing and wasn't so fucking contrived and derivative I might have enjoyed it more, because it does have some good(although silly) action.

Every few months someone comes along on one message board or another because they discovered this awesome new flick that supposedly no one knows about, and they just gotta tell everyone! It's weird, I don't get why it happens with this movie so much, lol. No offense intended, I don't blame you for making a new thread on it, I've just seen billions of threads about it and it is tiring :p

I think this movie is overrated as fuck. Not in the traditional sense mind you, but the same why I feel Donnie Darko is overrated. Not overrated by being liked by many, but the little cults that adore the respective movies often think so fucking highly of themselves for liking/even knowing about the movie, and that the movie is the best thing since sliced bread. "What's your favorite movie? Oh, Godfather? Mine's Donnie Darko, I'm so fucking indie and hip."(mine isn't Godfather btw, ex). I'm not talking about the OP here, I'm talking about many other people I've come across with this attitude.

I liked Equilibrium. Hated V for Vendetta and Donnie Darko.

OK? I never said equilibrium and DD are comparable in any way except that they both have rabid douchebag cult followings.

and I wasn't talking about the movie V for Vendetta, so, congratulations?

Making a statement about things which were mentioned in this thread. Pretty fucking simple. Way to get worked up over nothing, faggot.

And I'm well aware that you weren't speaking of the movie, because the movie came out after Equilibrium.

    So... go fuck yourself.

YEAH I'M SO WORKED UP! GRRR!

YOU GOT ME GOOD I GUESS!

and equilibrium doesn't even come close to holding a candle to V for Vendetta or Donnie Darko even though I don't like either all that much.

If I want a terrible story held together by some action sequences i'll watch the matrix reloaded over this garbage. If I want a good story with some action sequences i'll watch The Matrix.

How is it not relevant? It outlines all the problems I have with equilibrium...

"Making a statement about things which were mentioned in this thread. Pretty fucking simple."

It's perfectly relevant, even if this thread doesn't deserve relevant replies as it's about a movie that came out in 2002 that there are already 600 threads on. CONGRATS FOR DISCOVERING THE GEM THAT IS EQUILIBRIUM, WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT HOUZ?

every movie has similarities with some other flick, this movie was a good movie sure it had some similarities and some movies since have been similar to it, but who cares, it's a good movie.

hell most movies try to rip off great movies and they suck so any good movie is a good movie regardless if it stole an idea or 2 from some other movie or comic etc.

there isn't anything original anymore everything has been done

I sorta liked the youtube version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwYt4T1BTsg

I haven't seen equilibrium in total but it was sort of captivating idea to live in a word 100% void of emotion, i guess that's what the attractive factor is of this movie along with some badass action in it. In equilibrium killing has become a form of art, voodoo style.

if there was anything good about this movie besides a couple action sequences I might agree with you.

the lack of originality is just the icing on the shit cake made of uninteresting characters and poor writing.

HAHA. LET'S SUPPRESS EMOTION LIKE IN THE MOVIE, EVERYONE MUST HAVE THE SAME BLIND OPINION ON THE TOPIC.

I might would go make a blog about it if blogging wasn't gay as fuck and if it wasn't a mediocre movie from 6 years ago. It baffles me that people still make threads about this movie.

I will stop posting in this thread so the fantasy world where this is a good movie can still exist.

my friend recommend the movie as "better than Matrix one" but it didn't live up to that billing. I recall at the end was a James Bond like scene where nobody could shoot the hero. I hate those scenes :)
