    Any EOD persons in here?

Have some questions about your MOS and school.

    What service are you?

Do all the services go to the same class?

    How hard is the school?

I have heard the school is very diffuculty, is this true.

And how much down time or time off from class and studying do you have?

Also, how is the surrounding area?
Lots to do or another shitty military town?

    Army Officer (prior Navy Enlisted)

Army, AF, Marines start one class together and Navy usually starts their own class...doesn't mean you won't have a Squid in your class if you're not Navy or that you won't wind up in a Navy class....all depends on how many seats are open for that class and if the services can fill the required seats. The school can be hard at times...but more then anything, it's not really difficult but it's really easy to fudge things up (order of steps, forgetting to do certain safety things, etc...). The attrition rate is atrocious but it's due more to out of school mishaps (underage drinking, etc...), I think overall, the academic dismissal rate is around 30%. You get out of school anywhere from 1400 to 1630...and you should be there @ 0600 in the morning for study hall (that's the only real time to study since you can't take any notes or material home). The weekends is yours to do pretty much whatever you want.
Eglin is next to Destin which is a party town...clubs are open til 4 am (leads to trouble more times then not)...and Pensacola and Panama City less then a hour away each. You're right on the coast...so you got beaches, and the area itself isn't that bad....it's the south so rednecks are a given...but still it's a nice area compared to the majority of areas that other bases are at. If you can't find something fun to do here, it's not due to the Eglin area sucking...it's due to you lacking social skills or being a nerd and staying at home.

    Any more questions?
