Not til March, but its time to start training now. Gonna be entering the 2006 Maine State competition. I'm really psyched, finally found something to fill the void that not playing football has left.

now, if someone would just respond to my shirt/suit thread, I'd be very happy

    All raw:

    405 bench right now
    last squat max was 425
    last deadlift max was 405

my S and DL number are higher now and bench will shoot up pretty soon. I took some time off from going really heavy trying to slim down a bit - butI can't stand watching my strength go to shit

edit: the squat max and deadlift max are old maxes

I can squat the same weight as you (At least according to those stats) but you bench like 100 lbs more. The hell?

i don't think he did any lower body work for a while after football?

anyway, I never saw your pl gear question, I am no expert, but I have used different brands and know what is good and what is crap.

Are you doing bench only, push pull or full meet?

 Still some pretty awesome numbers. It's not everyday you find someone benching almost the same weight as their squat.

one thing i will say about gear, is don't use it expecting to put a bunch of weight on squat, bench, and deadlift right out of the box. It is going to take lots of practice to get awesome caryover.

Not to talk shit, but it's not that his bench is that great, I mean it IS great, but that only makes his squat and dead look weak.

sorry i've been at the gym. yeah GnP is right, after football I basically stayed away from lower body work (being forced to do something for 6 years kinda makes you not want to do it anymore) but I'm starting to get back into it now. we'll see how it goes, I had a knee injury freshman year of college ball so who knows.

I'm for sure not looking for immediate results with gear - thats why my goal for everything isn't until March

thanks to all of those who posted in the equipment thread. very very helpful :bigthumb:

    yeah, i figured as much.
I would look on e-bay for a shirt, and maybee a crappy suit, justy to get used to gear, then go get urself a metal double ply suit, that will be one of my next purchases i think, i still don't know what i am going to do for a shirt though, i dont even use the one i have...:hs:

exactly. its kind of embarassing to a degree. good thing is I'll be back to normal number pretty soon. Judging from the way I know my body my sqaut max is mid 4's right now and deadlift is creeping on 420's

so, hopefully i wont be benching as much as I squat for much longer

well my personal recomendation is to get some briefs right away. I would get some frantz (double or single depends on the fed, find out now). I have heard metal makes some great briefs, but I don't know if they make single, and I have heard they take some getting used to. Chris may know more about metal stuff.

Also you may want to get your shirt and squat suit right away. For a shirt I would go with Karin's, and for a suit I like frantz again. I am an Inzer hater. You need some time though because invariably there will be some alterations you'll need made in the shirt.

Preaching to the choir buddy. But I've never been one to talk shit, especially when I'm being outbenched by nearly 100 lbs.
