Just decided that I'm transferring back to Florida next year (in maine now) and its about time to start slimmin down. Wont be playing football so, this should be interesting. Started the eliptical machine last week, 15 minutes 4x a week, up to 20 minutes this week... great fuckin machine, easy on the joints and a great workout. I approve.

:werd: We bought this one for our home gym. Very close to the Precor stuff we used at the non-home gym. Vision Fitness X6200HRT

We've got the same one. :mamoru:

Not as fancy as the Precor, but definitely super smooth and stable compared to what you normally see sold for home use. Resistance on it is really smooth too. I hit mine for 20-30 minutes pretty much every weekday morning.

I like the eliptical, and it always says that I burn a shit load of cals on it, but I dont sweat as much as I do when I run. Doesnt that mean Im not getting as good a workout as when I run?

i love the elliptical because i'm overweight, and jogging as often as i do would tear my knees apart.

i hit the elliptical 30 minutes a day after a workout, 4 times a week.

The elliptical is my favorite cardio machine. I feel I get a better workout with it and it doesnt hurt my joints.

Probably from a GPP standpoint, but not from a cardio standpoint IMO.

When I'm doing max incline walking at 5mph my HR is at like 170. It works the small muscles around the knees as well (same with stair masters).

We got our's as a floor model for $1250 plus del./set-up. I think new they are close to $2K??

Worth the exra dough in my opinion. Ever try those models at Dick's, Sports Authority, etc.. The stride length is real short, and they wobble:wiggle: bad.

me :squint: but that also probably has to do with the fact that it good for work on my calf endurance. I like to keep it at a 15* incline and 3.8mph.
