does anyone have a cheap personal favorites? i like my guns just like my women-- cheap and hella easy to strip down
i looked up prices on remakes of the remington m40 that was on another thread here, but they range anywhere from 1500-2500 dollars.. but i think the most i'd be willing to spend on a nice accurate rifle is about 500-600 dollars. what do you guys think? could i find a decent one for even less than that?

You can pick up savages for under that, pretty accurate, I have 110 in 30-06, got a crappy scope on it, one day I'll get a better scope and nice stock on it.

You might could find a Rem 700 .308 for 500-600. I got my VS new for a little over 700.

You could always grab a used one. Then when you get some extra cash re barrel, stock, & trigger it.

ohh a 700 would be nice i think, might be a little out of my price range for now.. i priced used savages at around 300 which seems a little more reasonable for me right now...
i think i def might have to look for a used one tho....

yeah eventually I may put a synthetic stock on it and a bipod, dunno its not a rifle I shoot that often currently. Ranges around here suck only a couple hundred yards.

That stock alone would probably eat up most of your budget.

:werd: They are really nice out of the box. Many people complain about the cheap feeling stock though.

Tasco hasn't had a hand in the Super Sniper scopes for some while actually (and that's a good thing, people were blowing the glass out).
