I'm not sure if any other students here have had to do this problem before, but it's pretty classic. Basically you have to place 8 queens on a chess board where none of them can attach each other. The algorithm uses recursion to find the solution.

To Run: Just click solve. You can move the slider to slow it down to understand the steps better, or set it to no delay so you don't have to wait. Also, you'll need the Java plugin to run it.

If you can't resolve the domain, I did just move it over the weekend. But the applet itself should be there. Make sure you have Sun's version of Java and not the MS version.

Thanks man. I'm in the same topic class right now and I'm loving it. Kinda makes me wish I had done CS, but I try and think optimistically. Maybe those business classes will help me out in the future. :o
