Egg whites?

    When cutting, is it even worth it to take the yokes out, or does it matter very much?

    Yes, take the yokes out. There is where nearly all of the 80 calories per egg, 4g of fat, and 3g of saturated fat come from. The whites are basically just protein. What I do is use 2 egg whites, and one whole egg. That one yoke for 3 whites actually keeps the egg flavor pretty well and you cut down on fat a lot. Add a bit of cheddar cheese to it and it makes it every better.

    3g protein in the white, 3g protein in the yolk... 2 whites and one whole egg is probably good if you like being small :ugh: try 6 whites and 2 full eggs as part of your morning snack...

    i still have no clue what to eat when on a cutting diet.

    breakfast: grapes, apple, banana
    12pm: salad (just lettuce) with Honey Dijon dressing and 2 chicking breasts
    3pm: same as above
    6pm: same thing

    bad or good?

    :ugh: I find it hard to believe you'll be eating 6 entire chicken breasts per day, and if you do that must get pretty expensive... Vary up your protein sources. Throw in 2-3 protein shakes (pre + post workout, and one before you go to bed) maybe get some tuna in there as well... Just keep in mind you should still be getting a decent amount of calories even though you're cutting otherwise you're going to be spinning your wheels losing a bunch of muscle.

    Altough he better eat the carbs in the morning... But yeah, proteins would be better, like a couple of egg whites and maybe get a cup of oatmeal as carbs instead of fruits. The fruits are ok, but you might think about eating fruits that have a lower GI such as pears to keep you from getting hunfry longer if you still want to get fruits in the morning, or maybe an orange since the acid in it will slow your digestion.

    for breakfast, i'll eat some egg whites.

    xpinch, i forgot to mention that I will in a dorm type apartment where the food is free. its like a buffet...i just go down there, ask the guy to cook up 2 chicken breasts and eat em....:)

    i'd rather make my own thread rather than hijack this one but some people wouldn't really like that.

    most of the info there is for bulking....i used most of that info when i was bulking, so i'm thankful to the people who wrote them..:hs:

    That makes more sense then. The only problem now is (as someone already said) your entire breakfast is high GI fruits, so you'll be fine for a while, but after a couple hours you'll hit rock bottom and be hungry again. Get some more low GI stuff in there while keeping your carbs. Ideally, you'd get some protein in there as well. Maybe a small bowl of oatmeal, a couple of egg whites, then a fruit of your choice.

    i just started cutting... on a normal day, i eat an egg and some rice for breakfast... dunno if this is good or not either

    Thanks for the info. But don't you think that your assumption of how big I am is misguided just by your assumption being based on the fact that I use 2 white and one whole?
    I am 5" 9' 215lbs with nearly 18" arms and put up over 400lbs on the bench. Not exactly huge, but certainly not small. BTW, the reason my egg intake was down to 2 white and 1 whole is because I am cutting ;)

    To the main question,
    I usually have 4 egg whites and 2 whole eggs.

    For breakfast, it's 2 scoops ON protein and like 5 bowls of cinnamon Life

    In my experiences, just breaking the egg in half and swoshing the yoke back and forth in the shell over a bowl works pretty well.

    You have to be good at breaking the shell though --- I always fuck it up.

    That's sorta what I was thinking, just making sure you don't get fucked out of a lot of the whites.
