What happens if you attach an EF-S lens to a Canon film SLR? Does the lens work at all? If so, what capabilities do you lose?

won't fit as is, you can mod it, but the mirror may hit the back of the lens, there would be severe light fall off, and major issues with corner sharpness

OK, thanks. I guess I'll have to pick up an 18-55 non-EF-S for my film photography class.

It looked real wierd through the viewfinder.

You could see reflections from the mirror to the baffles on the back of the lens.
