I just find myself constantly motivated and interested in fitness material despite the fact that I don't yet look the part. I've been working out for about a year now, from 6 feet 130ish to 6 feet 170ish.

I'm going to school now, i'm a second year freshman at a community college and I'm trying to plan for my future for once. I'll be transferring to GA state when I get appropriate credits.

What career options does have a person have, what major and minor benefit this, and pay ranges for different careers.

Am I the only one interested in this?

I'm planning on pursuing a CSCS once I get out of school. My college doesn't have an exercise science program, but they can help get you a head start in the industry

Seems like the better options would be to pursue a Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy certification. I have friends that do both and they do alright for themselves.

I dunno I hear that if you're good at selling yourself you can make a good amount of money doing personal training shit. Just gotta establish yourself and get a good client base going and all that shit.

Then you can charge fat people out the ass for cookie cutter bullshit :p

I would never try to make a living doing it but some people make a good bit of money on the side.

But as a full time job...fuck that.

Does anyone have a link or insturctions to what you need to do to become a certified personal trainer?

I have been working out at the same gym for a while now (commercial gym, same place I lifeguard at) and all the PTs and regulars know me now...so I was considering getting a job as a PT once I turn 18.

If things go as planned I'll be starting my PT program in 2009! :hsd:

Too bad I'm already 23. :wtc:

EDIT: I'm not really a sports guy, and this is the closest thing that involved training and learning about the human body and how to fix/improve it (that paid well).

I'm 25 in 2 weeks.. and I'm thinking of some sort of change. Been in my career since 19 years old, and I'm feeling unmotivated.

Something having to do with strength or physical well being is very intriguing, given my new lifestyle, etc.
