    1 good thing about HD-DVD losing, means it is cheap to buy now.

    Through housemates work getting whole bunch of movies at $6/each :wiggle:

    I see...

    But what is Blu ray then? I know HD is high def but.. I don't get what's special about Blu ray and why it's so expensive

    Blu-Ray is another format for HD much like VHS and Beta

    Blu-Ray has more capacity than HD-DVD though so would be a more future proof technology, it was also being pushed more by Sony where as Toshiba was the main supporter for HD-DVD.
