I'm on Google now, researching some info, but I always like to post here with questions as well, so....

I see people on here posting about C&Rs, which I understand to be curios and relics. But, from a few things I've read, it led me to believe that you have to have some form of license to purchase these. Is that true?

    What makes a C&R, a C&R?

Any must haves? I always see folks on here posting about Mosins. Up until I got on this site, I'd never even heard of a Mosin, and I always thought myself to be fairly well informed on firearms. Atleast compared to most folks.

So, OT, talk to me about C&Rs. :wiggle:

C&R is a type of license, and it does stand for Curios & Relics. Having the license allows you to purchase firearms (specific firearms that qualify) and have them sent directly to your doorstep, instead of going through an FFL.

    And Mosins are badass.

My M44 turns heads at the range every time I pull the boom switch.

C&R's are basically weapons that are on the ATF list http://www.atf.gov/firearms/curios/index.htm or any weapon that is 50 years old or more (at least here in CA.)

You dont have to have a license to purchase them, but if you do get the 03 FFL or C&R Collectors License you can avoid having to go through dealers for interstate transfers of eligible firearms and you can similarly have them shipped to you.
