First off, let me explain that I'm not by any means an expert, nor have I become a millionaire from any of this. When running a porn website, half is luck & half is skill - you can do well with either half. I'm just going to share what little I know about this fairly complicated industry. Furthermore, there are many "dishonest" ways to make money by running a porn site. I not only do not recommend these ways, but I also will not share these ways with you - it is bad business practices IMO. Now, let's get started shall we?

    BLOGS

If you're new to running websites and/or running a porn site, I recommend a blog as your first option. They are also the "cheapest" as far as money you have to spend.

    Why a blog?
    - First and foremost, because search engines rape blogs like nobody's business, especially if you use your keyword(s) well. I'll get more into this later.
    - If you write custom blog posts, from my experience, they convert the best. Visitors trust you. Pervs are humans, too, ya know.
    - They are more customizable & easier to make "unique". Mostly every other "form" of a free porn site is pretty much a replica of another. With those, it just depends on how horny & how willing the person who clicks your links is. Basically lots of luck - from my experiences.

    Keywords
    - When writing your blog posts, bold your keywords. If you start a site about tranny's, always bold "she-male sex", "transexual sex", "tranny sex", etc. Same for teens, anal, blondes, brunettes, amateur, live cams, etc. I do not recommend bloating your site with the same keyword however. For instance, don't bold "teen" 700 times & no other word. You want more than one keyword emphasized. So for teens, you'd want something like: "teens", "18-19", "young girl sex", "fresh out of high school", etc.
    - Do NOT use keyword spammers on your site. You may or may not know what these are, but they look incredibly tacky. Write your blog posts as you normally would, & just bold the words you want emphasized. You want people to say, "oh, xxx.com is pretty sweet, friend of mine. go check it out" - not just visit your site, maybe click a link, then forget about it.

How do I get traffic to my newly started blog?
    - At first, you get back links. Most free porn sites have software similar to LinkEx.
I highly recommend this, as it's very easy to add link trades etc, & you can only allow certain PR's, require or not require back links, etc.
    - Join http://gfy.com - adult webmaster forum, & find sites with your niche looking for link trades & add your links/contact those webmasters about link trades, etc. I usually will go to one or two sites from my niche, then go to every site those sites have traded with & add my link on those sites as well. Easier IMO, but what you do is up to you.
    - Do NOT expect to get 5k uniques/day on a newly started blog unless you purchase traffic or do some amazing SEO. You'll probably be chuggin' along with 500 uniques or so daily until search engines start to "trust" your site.
    - If you want to, put up some custom content(for instance, when I ran a live cams blog, I put up amateur cam videos I d/l'd off of cheggit, etc, then submitted the link to that blog post on slackernetwork.com & other similar sites. In the blog post, say something like "see this hot blonde/teen/asian in action live @ affiliatelinkhere").
    - Submit your blog to adult blog directories.
    http://www.adultsexblogs.com/
    http://www.adultblogdirectory.com/
    http://www.adultblogsites.com/
    http://www.adultblogfinder.com/
    http://www.adultblogster.com/
    NSFW
.. just to name a few.
    - Buy plugs to your blogs on a similar site - more about this directly below. These are very beneficial - not really for traffic, but for SEO.

How else can I make money off of my blog?
    - If you have the traffic/PR, selling hard links on your site. I wouldn't recommend doing this until you're pretty established on GFY.com or something, though, 'cause there's 500 other sites people can submit their links to for free.
    - Plugging other people's sites in your blog posts. I'd say charge 5-10 bucks per plug. A lot of people will buy these, as they're very beneficial for SEO purposes. It is, afterall, how the "blogosphere" works pretty much.

I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH, BUT DO NOT EXPECT TO GET RICH QUICK FROM RUNNING AN ADULT WEBSITE. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN UNLESS YOU KNOW BRITNEY SPEARS AND FILM HER FUCKING EVERY NIGHT THEN SELL IT. AFTER 6-7 MONTHS, YOU MIGHT BE MAKING ENOUGH TO QUIT YOUR DAY JOB IF YOU GIVE YOUR SITE(S) THE T.L.C. THEY DESERVE. YOU WON'T GO ANYWHERE WITH ZERO MONEY TO SPEND ON ADVERTISING, BLOG PLUGS, ETC.

    TGP(THUMBNAIL GALLERY POST)

I'm not going to go into too much detail about these, because honestly.. I dislike them a lot, & don't know TOO much about them, but I will share what little I do know.

First and foremost, you will need money if you want your TGP to be worth a shit. If you don't have a few hundred bucks to buy skimmed traffic for your TGP, start a blog. For the most part, running a TGP is about getting as much traffic as you possibly can to your site. The average conversion ratio for a TGP is about 1600:1 - that means you'll make maybe 20-40 bucks for every 1600 people who visit your site on average. So that means you want about 50k visiting your site weekly/bi-weekly at least if you want to start making money. It is expensive, because you will have to purchase a great deal of this traffic - BUT you can sell some of your traffic as well. For more information, go to: http://www.chokertraffic.com/?aff=mrxenemy - I recommend these guys, but there are a few others like http://joestraffic.com - choker is the best IMO & has the best traffic.

    You will need a script.
    http://www.x3scripts.com/ - free
http://www.vanillatgp.com/ - not so free, but better than the free one by far.

Again, I do not know too much about TGP's.. & I really don't recommend this option as it's more of a pain in the ass, but feel free to ask any questions in this thread & I will answer to the best of my ability. They can potentially make you a GREAT deal of money(madthumbs.com rakes in enough to buy a new car every month) - but it's a lot of work & not cheap at the beginning. If you're willing & have the time, ask a question - I'll try to answer or I will get the answer for you.

    Monetization

Your money is going to be made by people joining porn sites under your link. The best way to do this is by using good hyper link text - if you're a good sales man, you can make a great deal of money. Most affiliates have pretty good landing pages/tours which convert well - if you can get people to click, just leave the rest up to the porn site. Your priority is getting them to click. So how do you do that? You do that by having the link in your blog posts as much as possible. This is an example of a blog post(parenthesis = link), but for instance "check out this (hot teen), who takes a (big cock in her tight pussy). The (hot teen sucks a big cock) then the (young girl gets a huge cum shot on her face)." Again, your number 1 priority is getting people to click the affiliate links. From my experiences, blogs have about a 200:1 conversion ratio - if you write really well, you can have about a 100:1 or even a 50:1 conversion ratio. Remember, when writing the blog posts.. it's about turning the visitor on even more & making them want to click AND join. So, write the post as if it's something you'd read & get turned on. If you feel a little tingly down there(pardon the pun) after writing the entry, you wrote a good entry. If you don't, then you should probably re-write it.

    TIPS, AFFILIATES, ETC.

    - I HIGHLY recommend starting a blog/site about something YOU are turned on by, especially if you're starting a blog. If you start one about boobs but you're an ass guy, it won't be at its full potential. If you start one about mature chicks but you're into teens, it won't be as good. What are you turned on by? That is what you should start a porn site/blog about.
    - BUT, if you're asexual or just.. want some advice - Teens/Live cams/Amateur usually convert the best. There are a LOT of closet pedos online, & a lot more who want to see a girl who looks like their classmate/co-worker/wife when she was actually hott. But again, I HIGHLY suggest starting a site about the niche(s) which turn YOU on. There is a market for it, I promise - no matter how weird/nasty you think it is.
    - DO NOT be dishonest & misleading in your blog posts. If you say the link is to a brunette teen with big tits, make sure that it is. You want people to like your site & come back to it, not just click a link. GAIN THE TRUST OF YOUR VISITORS - THEY ARE HUMANS AND AT LEAST SOME OF THEM HAVE FRIENDS:)mamoru:). Word of mouth is GREAT for promotion, so if people like your site.. they will tell people, or recommend it on sites like OT/genmay, etc.
    - I don't know about you, but I fucking hate pop unders, etc. I don't recommend 'em. Only put up banner ads, text link ads, etc. Sure, pop unders might convert well, but they also might piss a lot of people off. This goes back to getting people to like your site.
    - If starting a blog, make it seem more like you're sharing information & less like you're trying to make money. IE., do not bloat your site with tons of "CLICK HERE TO DO THIS AND THIS" type ads. Make whatever ads you DO put up(outside of what's in blog posts) be very subtle. You want visitors to think you're just another perv who loves _niche_ & wants to share his/her love with the masses of the interwebs.
    - If it's something that pisses you off & you don't like it on other sites, do NOT put it up on your site. No matter how "non-conformist" you may think you are, there is someone else out there who hates that shit too. Keep this in mind when putting anything on your site.
    - Check & double check to make sure your host allows adult web hosting. Host gator does for sure, & I recommend them.
    - Legal issues - don't put up child porn. It depends on where the server your site is hosted on is located(so make sure you know that) - for instance, don't run a scat site if the server is located in the Bible Belt(Houston, Dallas, STL, etc). If you're just gonna do a site about teens/anal/big tits etc, it's allowed in the US, so you're okay. If you're gonna go to the dark side & do trannies/scat/piss etc, I recommend a foreign host(europe). Check with support for whatever hosting company you choose & see if they allow it - they'll know if it's legal or not where their servers are. If they don't know, find a new host. You don't want the FBI coming to your house.

Affiliates which have converted well for me:
    Fling.com -
    http://www.hugetraffic.com/referral.htm?wm_id=smackmy
    TeenRevenue.com(teen topanga, etc. - VERY GOOD CONVERSIONS) - http://admin.teenrevenue.com/cgi/click?account=872246&site=4&program=3
    AdultFriendFinder(PPC) - http://adultfriendfinder.com/go/g918195-brk
    Cams.com - http://cams.com/go/g918195-brk
    Passion.com - http://passion.com/go/g918195-brk
    Webcams.com(GREAT conversions) - http://webcams.com/affiliate/?ref=mrxenemy

I'd recommend only using AFF/Fling on amateur type sites, as they'll convert the best there. BUT! They can do well on any site really.

Live cam sites convert extremely well. I recommend them over any type of niche if you're still undecided.

Remember - be honest with your visitors, keep them interested in your site, give them a million reasons to LIKE your site, & very very few to dislike it. Your visitors are who will make you money. Make them happy & they will spend money from your website. Piss them off & your site will eventually fail, unless you're a really really good liar.

Any questions? Feel free to post 'em in this thread or get ahold of me on AIM, which is somewhere up there.

    Good luck.

    Edit:
If you're not a pervert, don't love tits, ass, pussy, trannies, sluts, or something.. this simply isn't the business for you. You might do well if you're an exceptional sales person, but as a general rule of thumb.. a pervert will do much better running a porn site than someone who is not.

I could find a couple if you wanted - I'm working on re-launching mine ATM.

MOST porn blogs are just random keywords, usually from sponsor RSS feeds.. this can be kind of good, but won't convert nearly as well if you were to write the posts yourself & make it seem like you're just another pervert who just happens to know how to use wordpress. :mamoru:

Lemme look around & see if I can find a good example.

If not, I'll put up a theme & shit on mine then do a blog post to give you guys an idea as far as posting.

He made an EDU for OT. I see no problems in asking for a referral.

If he's asking for a referral without providing any help, that's a different story, but at least he's helping. :dunno:

Good advice. GFY is a great place for learning, as is netpond.com. Netpond has a whole forum dedicated to blogging. I just started my first blog a few weeks ago and I am already making sales.

That was my conversion ratio on the only TGP I ever ran, & that's what other webmasters have told me/posted about on GFY as well. That's for a good TGP, by the way.. not some thrown together in 5 minutes half-assed one. Ratios could be as bad as 5000:1 or way way worse. From my experiences, TGP's are luck of the draw. :dunno: But perhaps you may do extremely well with one. If you can afford to buy the traffic & lots of it, you'll be good to go - and in turn, you can sell the traffic. Talk to TGP's seperately as well & give them a 5% skim or something, & they'll do the same in return.

    Hope that helps.

Also for anyone interested in starting a TGP, check out thumb manager. It's pretty much the best TGP script alongside COMUS thumbs. The company offers a package that they will setup for you. Dedicated and managed server, free TGP and trade script(installed). Prices range from 60-300 a month.
