    What Works:
    Awesome powertrain; impressive test numbers.

    What Needs Work:
Sometimes unnerving handling; seats are shaped for fat, old men; that plastic smell.

    Bottom Line:
Beyond its amazing performance numbers, the Vette is a good value and offers surprising cargo space. It just takes some getting used to.

i don't know why people get so hung up on slalom speeds. they even said the reason it went slower is because it was "unnerving" to drive through the slalom, meaning their driver wasn't good enough to run the car at it's full potential.

lateral G is more important then slalom in day to day driving

anyway id imagine the C6 is set up to the be softer, i dont think that even had the Z51 package

    lat g is overrated also

My old lightning was rated at .88 on the skidpad
350z is rated about the same i believe

that doesn't mean they handle anything alike

Z51 performance package is worth its weight in gold

id have no problem spending 5k in extra's for significant performance advantages on a 50k car.

    Both 'handling' tests are flawed.

Slalom prefers narrower cars and skidpad prefers big tires.

The Corvette is a great car. But sitting in the showroom next to the Camaro it's invisible.

Very interested in an LS3 Vette...just needs some minor tweaks (Cam, exhaust, wheels) to look and sound mean as hell

Livernois is the shit. On the off-chance I take my ride to Detroit for the Cruise this year I might have to drop it off at their shop.

By far the worst part of the interior in the Corvette (and the Mustang) IMO. So soft, so flat. :hs:

I have thought about replacing the seats in my Mustang but I just don't feel like spending the money on the car...going to try to make it through the remainder of my ownership with as few additional mods as possible :hs:

To me, when driving the vette (had it for 2 days), it was the handling and not the powertrain that surprised me. I understand the "unnerving" feeling because you don't know where that edge is until its too late. But it would just pull its way out of a corner insanely early. The engine felt like it should, not like I needed to hold on for life.
