3.9 second 0-60 and a dry sump engine with z06 brakes for 55k isnt exactly a bad buy

it would destroy a GT500 for the same money

Sure it isn't a bad buy, but why not save nearly $6k and just get the base C6? That was the point they were making.

well, you get the z51 kit, so better suspension, thats worth most of the money

you also get z06 spec brakes, there is the rest of the value

and you also get a dry sump engine. Like it or not people want that.

Not to mention some exterior treatment, and z06 styling cues lol

    don't care for the gills.

I'd rather buy a used Z06, but that isn't really comparing apples to applies I suppose.

There's a difference between adding parts that can/should make a difference, then actually feeling the difference. The article is saying that the difference can't really be felt.

If you're shelling out another $6k, especially on performance oriented parts, people expect a bigger difference.

    @ dry sump comment

it says "zo6 size" and "z06 style". it doesn't say "z06 brakes"

What does that do for you? Not a whole lot, according to the article.

What fantastically obscure complexity do you think differs between these brakes and the Z06?

I'm not saying it's a bad car. Just that the whole may not be the sum of the parts. :dunno:

why cant you morons realise its not actually a base c6

its a c6 with the z51 handling package

add that to a regular c6 and you get close to the 6k anyway

Why wouldn't they just say it then? Think there is only one 6 piston caliper out there, probably pulled something off an Aztek :mamoru:

It's a bigger difference going from C6->Z06, though. You'll actually feel it. For example, the suspension feel ought to be different, since it doesn't have the magnetic dampers. :dunno:

Yeah, I'm sure the Aztek has a 6-piston caliper that will bolt right up to a 14" rotor.

Um, why not? I'm not seeing why someone wouldn't want a dry sump system?

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. You think manufacturers should save costs and avoid performance parts because you can't use them on the street?
