    Hey duuuuudes :hay:

I'm on the photo crew at folk fest this year, it's pretty fucking rad. Meals are amazing, open bar parties after Friday/Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is supposed to be an epic party till like 5am.

I was originally told to get on the photo team someone basically had to die, but somehow I got lucky. I think the Oilers editing helped lots :x:

Anyway, only four acts tonight.. nothing spectacular yet, but it was a solid night.

Boz Scaggs (boring, no stage interaction.. all backup musicians are black which doesn't help with their light :o)

Steve motherfucking Earle rocked the house, played both copperhead road and transcendental blues

Kathleen Edwards was really good, plus she has a song that mentions Paul Coffee and Marty Mcsorley so it was an instant success in Edmonton :mamoru:

Breabach, never heard of them, mostly instrumental, I just liked how this guy kinda matched the logo on the back stage.

I'l upload day 2 tomorrow, and so on. Gonna be a great weekend :hyper:

Never been to the Folk Music Festival yet, where is Gallagher (sp?) Park anyways?

Love the pics of it in the Sun, it's like all these old fucks are just super stoned loving the tunes.

Man, it's the best time ever, Gallagher park is where the Edmonton Ski Club is, it's the ski hill by those pyramids in the valley.

more info on your setup...especially the night shots. they are clean as hell and sharp.

is this the same music festival where the storm came and destroyed the stage?

No, that was Big Valley Jamboree, a really shitty country festival for bros who like radio country music.. I would never offer to shoot there haha.

There's really no setup, The lighting there at night is just really nice, and you have to know when to shoot so that your camera comes up with the right exposure. Gotta wait for the right timing/positioning of all the stage lights.
