    I am trying to use the Java Media Framework for a project I am doing.

    this line:
    import javax.media.bean.playerbean.MediaPlayer;
    gives this error:
    Access restriction: The type MediaPlayer is not accessible due to restriction on required library /Library/Java/Extensions/jmf.jar

    there are two ways you could help me...
    1. solve this problem
    2. tell me about other (better) video libraries i could use

    I am on OS 10.5.8. I think the error is something within java that I am accessing incorrectly but I am not sure. :dunno:

    Could it be that class is protected and can only be seen inside of that package?

    If you don't want to disable the warning, then you need to program to the interface. Directly referencing MediaPlayer is bad design/style.
