had bad experience with the eclipse cd-loading/ejecting mechanism. Much rather have the Alpine.
heh. too late, just ordered a cd-3434 at the local shop.
$318otd, 3yr warranty
why'd you even ask, then?
No worries, you made the right choice. Eclipse basically all about sound quality, no gimmicks. Alpine is mostly the same way, but you pay another $50 or something to go up to the 9835 which only has a different screen over the 9833. With Eclipse as you go up in the model line there are almost no visual differences. What you get is higher voltage preouts (4V, 5V, 8V I think) and more advanced EQ and processor settings. I have the 5444 and love it. You will definitely be satisfied with the 9833. Not sure what the guy above me is talking about with cd loading problems, I've never heard of that being common with Eclipse.
good choice. Eclipse >*
I pick up the HU on Monday. Can't wait to install it.
Is there any special wiring needed for the Eclipse like wiring it to the battery or is it just simple hook up the harness and go?
I played around with the higher end Eclipse, I really like the simple look to it. And the CD3434 costs less than what I would paid for an Alpine 9833 without warranty on eBay
The shop tried getting me to take the 5444 for $450. Just a little out of my budget
for my 8053 it was hookup the harness and go
I think my next system will be around Eclipse, right now I am running the Alpine 9833.
