eating less big meals vs eating more small meals for fat burning?

    it seems to be pretty common thought that if you split your meals up into 5-6 smaller ones instead of 3 bigger ones, it "increases your metabolism" so you burn more fat. but like with any fitness related idea, other people say this is complete bullshit and that metabolism is directly related to the amount of calories you consume in total at the end of the day

    eating many small meals helps because it keeps your from getting so hungry that you binge

    It's more to do with eating habits than actual physiology. Small meals will keep your hunger suppressed and you're less likely to have a massive binge feast later in the day.

    At the end of the day, if calories in > calories out... you're going to gain weight.
