I saw that vid of timber eating Krispy Kreme the other day, and that same night I went to my gym and subway was there hawking their sandwiches and stuff, giving out free samples. They also were giving out cookies and I was like so I was asking a trainer there why they were letting subway give out cookies in the gym... it's like going to your dentist and them having a soda machine in the lobby. Anyway, he said that while he wouldn't recommend eating a cookie, there is evidence that intake of simple sugars/carbs after resistance training has a positive effect on protein uptake in the muscles. Is there any truth to this? Cliffs: Does eating some simple sugars right after lifting increase protein uptake in your muscles?
