    Good or bad?

I'm looking to gain weight, will eating before bed help my body retain more nutrients from the food?

As far as I've heard, if you drink a protein shake or eat something high in protein before bed it will make your sleep more anabolic. Don't quote me on that though.

I've been drinking Muscle Milk before I go to bed, but I'd like to add something on top of that also.

When you sleep, you don't usually eat, which would cause you blood sugar levels to go low and your body to release glucagon, which is a catabolic hormone. Eating prevents that by doing the contrary (higher sugar levels, releasing insulin, getting protein, especially leucine, also has been shown to promote an anabolic state)
