eating after a late workout

    i usally lift around 7 30pm and get done around 9 and by that time im starving again even tho i ate dinner at like 6. i know its bad to eat late at night so is there something i can eat that isent too bad for me

    its only bad if you eat then go directly to sleep causing your body to store most of the carbs as fats..so try to not eat carbs right before your sleep

    depends on what time you have to go to sleep (work, school) but generally sleeping after 2-3 hrs after ur last meal is ideal

    it's terrible to eat late at night if you are a lazy son of a bitch because your body is already engrossed in lethargy, but eating before bed after a workout is great... actually i dont know whats better that or poopin in the mornin

    It doesn't matter if your worked at at 4am or at 8pm. YOu need protein and fats before bed end of story.

    Well typically you want your last meal of the day/night to have relatively little carbs, but since you are just getting back from the gym, you are going to definitely want carbs. Just keep carbs to a moderate number and that is really the only thing I would say to worry about.

    After your workout have a protein shake. When you get home have some type of protein (beef, chicken, fish) with some rice or pasta.

    It's not our fault your advice sucks, eating carbs before bed is not going to make you fat as long as your calories and macro nutrient ratios are in check. Your body still needs fuel for various processes while you sleep, such as GH production.

    I get out of the gym about 12:30-1AM and load up on protein as soon as I get home, then crash out about an hour later. Seems to be working for me. :dunno:
