Select Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants (164 participating restaurants nationwide) are testing a promotion that invites all active duty and veterans to pull up a chair for a delicious meal and heartfelt thanks this Veterans Day. With gratitude for their service and sacrifice, active duty and veterans will eat free at participating locations on Veterans Day (November 11, 2008) during regular business hours.

Veterans and active duty with proof of United States military service will be able to go to one of the participating Applebee's and select one complimentary entrée from a selection of delicious favorites: a savory House Sirloin, hearty Riblet Basket, zesty Fiesta Lime Chicken®, a juicy Quesadilla Burger or fresh Oriental Chicken Salad. All the traditional sides are included.

"It's an honor to host an event that helps the neighborhood come together and say thanks to our veterans and active servicemen and women. We are starting on a small scale to ensure we can best understand how to staff and service these important guests." said Mike Archer, President, Applebee's Services, Inc..

    Proof of military service includes:

    • U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card
    • U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card
    • DD214
    • LES
    • Citation or Commendation
    • Photograph in uniform :)hsugh: yeah, that's me in full camo paint)
    • Veterans Organization Card

Those locations near big military installations may not participate, cause every nigga and their baby mama will be there, but it's worth a try. I know that Golden Corral normally does this every year and it's usually packed by hungry mofos. :mamoru:

military familys have nothing to do with sacrifice at all.. we do not have to deal with 14 hour shifts 7 days a week or deployments.. or crappy medical insurance..

I'd like to know whats up with the million other Applebees that arn't on the list. If they had the chance to participate and decided not to or something? I mean, I really hate the place, but it still would have been cool to pickup some chicken.

So a few Marines and I went to Applebees last night. A couple are recruiters so they worked late. We show up at Applebees around 2130, and they were already closed. So we decide to go to Red Robin down the street at the mall. We were hungry so what the hell. Somebody ended up paying our tab, wrote a nice message on piece of receipt paper. We found out it was a lady, and didn't want us knowing it was her that payed. Our waitress told us who had paid after the lady left. That's love. There are still people out there that appreciate us, and it felt good.
