im currently on bill starr 5x5 week 2 right now (the madcow version), so im still at the very light weight stages where the weight isn't really heavy enough to hit the assisting bi/tris hard enough. my arms feel like they have shrunk to half their normal size...

is it ok to supplement with some tri extensions and the like until the weight gets heavy enough in a few weeks to stimulate enough on its own?

I don't see anything wrong with adding some accessory work

if you're new to working out, down worry about it though. Stick to the basics.
