ATF says an e-mail copy is good to go since 02/05. (right?) Anyone ever have people refuse to accept an e-mail copy and demand an ink signed hardcopy?

if they take a faxed copy, I can't imagine they wouldn't take an emailed one.

I've used an emailed copy twice I think.

This is a purchase from a private party, and he's a little leary of accepting the e-mailed FFL from my local shop. He also has no fax machine available. Ugh.

wtf. that means he'll only take a mailed copy? It's still going to be a copy that someone could doctor if they wanted to.

I understand that, you understand that, some don't understand that.

There's also an ATF site where the validity of the FFL can be checked and the FFL holder can then be contacted directly by the seller so they know everything is on the up and up.

I overnighted a MO to the seller and expected to have the gun already.:wtc:

I've used email of scanned FFL's several times. Sounds like that guy is either a.) paranoid or b.) ripping you off?

If only there were that much common sense involved they wouldn't even have to have a signed copy of the license, just trade numbers and ship to the address listed on the website.

I've faxed and/or emailed them to multiple sellers before without any issue. In fact, I've never had to use snail mail.
