E-mail from Japan

    Hey, I just recieved an email from a friend who just moved to Japan but the encoading is all messed up, All i get is random *(#@, does anyone know how to fix this or what to do.

    Hmm....must be using another character encoding. Dunno what email client you are using, but usually, you can do this.

    Go to view, and there should be something called encoding, or character encoding. You have to set that to Japanese. If you are using webmail, you can do the same in a web browser.

    It's just using hotmail, that's why I didn't think there would be a problem

    The advice remains the same. Most browsers, including IE, have an encoding selection in the view menu. Select Japanese there. For IE, there might be several options, so choose "Japanese (Auto Select)"
