    224hp and 247 ft/lbs of torque

It's got an aftermarket intake manifold (ditched the TPI and went with a holley stealth ram), and a stock lt1 cam. Other than that it's a completely stock 305 boat anchor. Stock tune and log exhaust manifolds. From the lower graph (showing the wideband) you can see that from 2.5k to 4.5k it's pig rich and needs some tweeking tuning wise.

    Thoughts?

You don't think the stealth ram is a little much for a 305??

    No. I never thought that.

I know it is. But $~300 for some shitty runners or $500 for the entire manifold, fuel rail, pressure regulator.... Seems like an easy choice to me. Plus there is no TPI-esque wall at 4800 like every other 305 TPI out there.

Eh, not bad considering its a 305. My buddy has a '87 IROC and it has Headers, Cat-Back and a 3.73 gear and ran 14.5, not bad for a 305, but those 305s don't have a ton of potential.

3.73s? Does it have the t5 or 700r4? That's pretty steep for a basically stock car. Doesn't he run out of gear with that?

Hes got the 700r4, he doesn't run out of gear at all, hes had the car up past 140MPH with the 3.73.

Did he change the speedo gears after the rear swap?

No, he was next to my friend and we were going 140. Speedos in those cars only go up to 85 anyways.

err nice graph. i guess it's just me but....is that torque graph correct? 2xxlbs of torque available right from 1500rpm??

TPI cars are fucking torque monsters, but they fall flat on their faces top end.

    Not too bad.

Friend of mine has an 86 IROC, 383 stroker. Laid down 400whp, and 425lb.ft. of torque.

errr....if all tpi cars have a ridiculous amt of torque avail on the low end...how the hell do you drive them in the winter? like...400lbs of torque avail @ 1500rpm is death waiting to happen.

Simple. You don't drive at WOT in the winter.

If your car makes 400 ft/lbs of torque at 1500, you probably don't want to be driving it in winter anyways.

    Nice power.
Maybe I should dyno mine and see how low it is.
I've got the HSR on my 305 as well. Also a T5 with 4.10 gears.

Did you have to grind some of the hood support to clear the HSR?

Saying this is a TPI car is kind of a misnomer. It uses the same computer/sensors/etc but a completely different manifold which supposedly kills some of the low end torque by shortening the runners. It's like a tunnel ram with injectors and a plenum on top.

Thanks. I've seen yours at tgo and wondered if you'd gotten around to dyno'ing it yet. Is it stock except for the intake? Yes I had to cut out the hood structure directly above the manifold and the accordian boot has buffed the paint of the bottom of the hood in a small spot.

If you can't control your car, don't drive it. :)
