Stage 2, trunk lid and rear deck, are next.
Stage 3, doors, will have to wait until I get more Dynamat. I may not even need it because the fronts are going into kickpanels.
Stage 4, cabin floor, is way down the line.

All made possible by the first of many shipments of goods. :big grin:

    Sub box is being made.
    Front kicks are being made.
Boston 5.25" Pro's are on order with the kicks. I changed my mind about the Focals, heard too many bad things about poor craftsmanship.
    Alpine 7998 will arrive tomorrow.
2 ARC Audio 2050's will arrive in a couple days.

No use coming to steal my shit either, I'm moving in a couple days. Before it all goes in.

Sorry to say this, but it looks like you wasted a lot of money with the Dynamat and RCA's. Probably the speaker wire too. Either that or you got hooked up nicely by our resident dealer, BOSESYSTEM. :dunno:

Yes, I waited and got good deals on everything. I have a couple weeks on the kicks so I am taking my time.

I have to ask, why does everyone in car audio think that they get the best prices on everything? I can understand that they have particular brands and setups that they prefer, but damn, be quiet about the pricing already.
    [/rant]

With that out of my system, is there anything else that I can do to quiet the road noise? Are hoodliners effective? I haven't read anything about them nor have I seen one installed in person. Would it be wise to keep heat inside the engine bay with a top-mount intercooler? The main thing here is sound quality, that's what I am going for, not decibels.

If you're referring to what I said in your rant, I only say it not because I get some lucrative deals where I would pay much less, it's just that you can get other stuff that works the same or maybe better for a fraction of the cost. And that's retail, not some hookup price. Same on the wire/RCA. Why spend money on the really expensive RCA's and wire when the cheap stuff does the same exact thing with no audible difference.

Finished the trunk lid yesterday. All in all, the trunk floor and trunk lid took about 36 sq/ft. The size of the Dynamat bulk pack.

Now for the rear deck with the free Dynamat sent from Crutchfield. :)
