i have a 17" widescreen sony lcd monitor, it has just the plain old serial type hook up. i was wondering if there would be any benefit to getting a new video card that has dvi outputs? i know i dont have any dvi inputs, but i do have component inputs, are there any cards that would work with that? or am i going to be stuck using a dvi to serial connector?

D Sub... not serial. No it won't help having DVI out from your video card because you will have to convert it anyway.
