A picture on my DVI monitor only shows up when windows has loaded. How do I get it to turn on when the computer is booting up like a normal vga monitor?

What hardware are you using? I have an old AGP Radeon with DVI+VGA and both monitors get the same extact signal from POST up until the Windows video drivers have loaded and switches into extended desktop mode.

Hmm mine's an 8500 too. I don't know what to say. Yeah you might see if updating the card's BIOS will have an affect. There aren't any jumpers on the card, are there?
