My DVD-Rom on my Xbox 360 just died. After cleaning the lens and stuff I can get it to read a music CD but get zip when it comes to games and DVDs. Does it spin at a different speed for CD than for games and DVDs? Basically I'm trying to figure out if I need to replace the motor that spins the discs (cause it won't go fast/slow enough) or the lens (cause it won't read.) Thanks.

Wouldnt it be easier to just replace the DVD drive as a whole?

most likely lense. Takes much less focus to read a cd than a dvd.

I tried to find a replacement drive for it. But wasn't able to. You can't just use any old drive. There's an encryption key on the XBox 360s.
