Will pushing the tray in lightly to close it will break it in the long run??

    i usually push the button
considering that it has been engineered to allow you to push it slightly before it closes...i don't know, maybe after several 10's of thousands of closes, it might bust

i usually break a dvd burner each year because of heavy use anyways, but it has nothing to do with pushing it closed.

dvd burners are pretty cheap, by the time it breaks, you'll want a new one anyways
