I've never had a use for my DVD burner, but my pals and I recorded some ditch skating (wakeskating in 6-8" of water behind a truck) and I want to burn it to show others. I did a little editing in Premier and now it's an *avi.

Whats a good app to burn avi's to dvds to work in the dvd player?
Also +R or -R ...and whats the difference?

Oh, and some computer nerd I asked said to use some app to make it a bin/cue and then to burn it....does this make any sense? He was saying something about then I could have menus....???? I don't know what he was mumbling.
If so what program does that, and best app to burn cue/bin to place in a dvd player and work?

new questions below, top ones are answered. thanks!

ok I got the VCD to play on a dvd, yay!.... new question.

I have a video that is two cds (2 vids combined). they're both about 600 megs....anyway to get this to play continuiously on one dvd w/o losing too much quality?

and the bin/cue...how should I burn them?

You have assumed correctly. Excellent info as well.

What about the bin/cue if I did that, what app?
And I take it for VCD I can just use a normal CD and no DVDs needed? Also, Nero will convert the avi to a dvd playing format automatically?

The home video (avi) is 600 megs, it doesn't compress or anything for video CD w/ nero...so DVD then and video CD?

join them with virtualdubmod using direct stream copy (wont lose any quality). Then simply convert them to DVD with a program such as TMPgenc, or DivxtoDVD.
