so i want to burn some movies off my hd to save space. but the movies are over 4.7 gbs and my dvd rom dose not burn dual layer dvd's. it there a way to compress them a little to fit a regular dvd.

i wouldn't mind to find out as well, but what hardware do you have that doesn't burn DL-DVD's? Afaik, all the latest stuff comes with the DL burners except for the combo-drive models...

toast or transfer to a windows computer (or use bootcamp/parallels) and shrink it down with dvdshrink
