anyone else sharing the boredom
Nope, packout and we have to be onboard the lovely cv-63 tommorow by midnite. YAY
good luck on that pig how long you goin out for
Eh, December 12th. Not too long, just like 6 weeks. Then were supposed to be in port till like middle of next year. It would be nice i've been out like 8 months this year on that pig.
damn that sucks my roomate was on the kitty a while ago he said that it was good stuff but i have a hard time believing that what boat is good
duty weekend? what do you mean?
Are you ships company?
Nope, i'm with VFA-192. I'de shoot myself if I was ships company lol. And duty weekend means your pretty much on call the entire weekend if the squadron needs you for anything like maintenance on the jets, or cleaning the hangar bay and then standing watch. So your not allowed to drink that weekend and you have to be at your recall in case your needed for anything. Pretty much kills your weekend.
I'm very familiar with the duty weekend, I stand them once a month I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're an AME?
Yeah, i'm an AME. Hopefully next month AME3 but with our advancement quotas who knows. T minus 2 hours before I jump on the bus to yokosuka. This is gonna be a pretty skate cruise for me i'm manning up the lox plant this go round. Filling convertors for us, the prowlers and hawkeyes. You guys have fun i'll be back in December
What do you do on duty weekends? Firewatch?
I'm so glad we have OBOGS and no lox to deal with. I'm heading to the boat next week
For my squadron we muster once a day (Fri, Sat, Sun) and you stand 1 or 2 watches over the weekend, either at the barracks, which is a Fire watch, or line/hangar watch where you make sure the airplanes aren't getting away. What with the 3 chains and chocks, you never know
we moved a couple of jets from vf-41 back in the day when we worked weekends before cruise cause we were bored. we towed them down to the high power area
im back on watch again as well 0000 to 0800 what fun thank god for OT
