I'm on my feet moving relatively quick almost all day. I went through a pair of bates ultra lights in 8 months. They were comfy in the beginning then went to shit. Recommendations on some boots that will be comfortable and long lasting? :x:

How shit are the converse? I can get $50 towards the converse through work. I know I'm the one that complained about shit versus money, but just askin.

That said the converse are comfortable but cheaply made good thing I work the desk. One of our officers is a size 16 at over 6'3" he loves his danners I figure if they will take the stuff he puts them through on patrol duty they are excellent.

I wore shitty $25 dollar Response Gear duty boots I bought from Big 5. They were cheap enough that I didn't mind fuckin em up, felt like wearing hiking boots. Lasted about 6 months before the leather on top started to crack through.

I don't know what your requirements are as fare as looks but I got a pair of wolverien work boots for work and I love them, they have some sort of shock absorber designed into the sole of the shoe, I can spend all day on my feet and be comforatable. http://www.wolverine.com/US/

    Fulltime Cop.

I've had the same pair of Magnums for over 4 years

I'm buying a new pair next week though. The front part of the sole is coming apart. :wtc:

I've used both the Bates E03140 and the Danner 21210 Acadia.

If I was planning to be marching, etc and not being able to take them off for days on end, the Danner definitely has the edge in long term comfort.

If you get to take your boots off at night, the Bates are cheaper and just as good for up to a full day of wear.

dot. came in here to post this. and they were $50 at an outlet.

then again, I haven't hiked miles in them (and don't plan to) but if I had to I would think they would hold up. have worn them for a full 24 hours a few times and my feet never were fatigued

I had a pair of duty boots that I used for 5 years, daily wear, and only stopped wearing them because the dog used one of them as a chew toy :o

I have a paid of 5.11's right now, and I'm unhappy with them. Another guy at work has the same boot I do, and he's also unimpressed. IIRC they are the 5.11 HRT (side zip, 8")

Just splash out for a pair of Danner Acadias with a semi squishy insole.
There's few enough rewards already for having to be on your feet all day, every day.

No need to add crappy boots to the list of life's minor annoyances.

I went to try on a couple of different pairs and accidentally the whole boot budget on two new pistols. :dunno:

I know right. To make that statement and then not post pics of my new M&P twins. Maybe I should make a "I went out for boots" thread when I get home.
