Today I was upped my rep of dumbbell flat benching to 80's but my shoulder started hurting like crazy. When I used to do 75 it was completely fine and pain free but now I have to cut my sets because of the pain. Arent dumbbells supposed to be better at not injuring your shoulder as compared bar benching. Any advice on how I should proceed? Perhaps maybe stop being a pussy and working through the pain or maybe working out shoulders first a little more?

stop being a pussy if you ever want to get to brad pitt fight club level. however, stick to 75s if you want to look like paul walker in that water movie.

I notice when i DB press and keep the DBs at the same angle, my shoulder sometimes hurts afterwards. When I DB bench now I just twist the weights as I go through the rep and my shoulders feel fine after. maybe try if it that's not what you already do?

yeah... imagine your palms facing towards your feet at the bottom of the rep, then by the top of the rep they are facing each other.

Make sure you are repping them in a controlled way. Make sure you keep your torso and shoulders tight and semi-flexed. Otherwise, quit being a pussy or switch to barbell
