Most recent thing I ever heard was a guy talking to his friends about what gun they should buy. He goes "I would never buy a 9mm for self defense, because IMO it's not a very good round for stopping power. I would much rather a .40 or .45"

Oh the idiots, they are everywhere. :ugh:

With a 9mm, no one ever dies! :eek5:

Also someone said that if you owned a suppressor the ATF could just walk into your house at anytime and if the suppressor was not in a gun safe they could arrest you.

I know what you mean, but at least all the guns there have trigger locks on them.

If I ever do go there (usually get my licenses there and if we visit my parents my dad likes to visit there just to walk around sometimes) I love to go to the handgun section and just for shits and giggles ask the salesman if they price match their glocks. "are you joking?? these prices are as LOW as they get! :eek4:"

    :bowrofl:

FWIW.....I make a habit out of making up random shit as I walk through gun stores/shows.

It's usually so outlandish that anybody with any sense knows I'm being an ass but I'm sure there's a few idiots who probably go repeat the same non-sense on their favorite gun board

Last time I was at the fun store one of the other "customers" was staring down the business end of suppressed SIG 226 (that he was holding) right as I walked in. I'm not sure what he was hoping to learn.

A few times before that some spiky-headed "cool guy" came in and asked to fondle every "assault machine gun" (his words) they had. The high point was while he was handling a SBR AR-15 and while repeatedly fingering the trigger said "BAM! BAM! BAM!" while pointing it at different angles.

I turned to the owner after he left and said "You deal with a lot of that shit I take it?" and he said "Yeah, but he's got a right to own, and I've got a mortgage."

  16. I was at Cablea's a few weeks ago. They had a bunch of standard M4geries from bushmaster, and they were asking about that much too.

I got into a discussion with a gun store owner that basically ended in me getting told the the CZ was a cheap, unreliable baby eagle knockoff.

"We don't carry Saigas because they aren't reliable."

"Have you ever shot anything full-auto? It's not fun."

"We can transfer that but we'll be charging 10% of MSRP as the transfer fee."

Heard all that from different employees of the same gun store. I go there to fingerfuck their items then buy them elsewhere and have them transferred through a much better dealer ($25 per transfer).

Relative to the other two dealers I have around me, it's fan-fucking-tastic. One wants to charge 10% of MSRP and the other wanted $100 if they sold the same thing in the store or $50 if they didn't.
