I think I'm gonna go over, if not to buy anything just to browse around on a Saturday.

I'm in the mood for a 12ga shotgun or a 10/22. What do you guys think for the $200-$250 range? Last time I was there, I saw brand new mossberg 12ga's with stock going for $225. The faggot fucking dealer wouldn't take my 2nd form of ID (Gay Virginia ).

I know shotgun brands I might like, but 10/22's I know nadda other than Ruger. Any advice is appreciated.

  2. The 10/22 will find much more use than a shotgun.

yah this is def true. i feel bad not owning a good shotgun though :(

  4. Why feel bad? Buy what you will have the most fun with. You can always buy a shotgun later. I'd feel bad if I bought a gun that just sat in the corner all the time.

    what make do you suggest?

  6. For the 10/22? I've always gone with the Ruger.

:werd: my 10/22 is a Ruger. No reason to buy from anyone else.

ok so with ruger, do they make diff types of 10/22's? I had a ruger 10/22 as a kid. I'm so sorry I got rid of it :wtc:

I'd like to get one with the wood stock again. Should I go for one with a scope or buy a scope later? The one I had came with a scope and it was decent from what I remember.

Now that I think about it, the 10/22 that Remington makes is quite nice too.

IDK if VA is like CO, but in CO you can buy long guns in states that touch (NE, KS, UT, AZ, NM, OK, WY).

    No homo

There's a provision that allows state laws to make exceptions, IIRC.

I just bought a handgun in VA without a VA drivers license. You do not need a DL from the state you're buying in, but you do need to show residency. So in my case, I used two current bills showing my current address, I used my MD DL to show I was who I was and I bought my handgun no problem and walked out with it.

i want a 10/22 but a good shotgun (or a few good shotguns :) ) is a must imo because ya can't go pheasant and duck hunting with a .22

if you don't hunt (other than varmints that is) than a 10/22 would get much more use than a shotty

you can buy a long gun out of state anywhere. unless there is a state rule against it.

gun show website says out of state can buy rifles/shotguns as long as i have 2 proofs of ID.

yet another shining example of stupid gun laws. why they don't let you buy handguns is beyond me

when i did have my va license, this asshole dealer at the same gun show wouldn't sell me a shotgun. i showed him my VA license and my W2 statement from the previous year. it was in the spring so the W2 was recent. he wouldn't take it. he said I could fake a W2. I'm like did you check the VA website? They suggest a W2. He got all ignorant with me.

If you're going to heavily modify it (you will) you could just buy a receiver from one of many companies and start from there.

do you mind telling me where you did this?
