I have a TON more to go through, the photo editor needed me to submit a few for today's paper ASAP so these are only a few, I have like 400 more pics to go through.

PS- I didn't take hardly any pictures of the duke players. :run:

Pic 1: why are seats so empty? i would have thought this game would have been sold out.

    Pic6: reminds me of Girth's son's expression.

Good job w/ the pics :h5:

#1 I would have cropped tighter. Empty space and empty seats dont do much for sports pictures
#2 Im a huge fan of pictures that are "framed" by other elements in the picture but I think this one is just a wee bit too much
#3 Solid action. Id try to shoot a little lighter since a lot of these look a little on the dark side
#4 Im a sucker for them as well
    #5 I like!
#6 Ref in the way :hs:
#7 Solid. I like Coach Kryrshjhjdhffbsnbfeesskkfski. I wish I had a chance to shoot Duke sometime :hs:
    #8 Just so dark..
#9 Yes it does. Otherwise, I like it!
#10 Easily the best. I would have gone tighter with a crop though.
#11 Mixed feelings on this one. Partly because Im mixed on what I should be looking at.
#12 Cant really tell its dunk time :hs: No pictures taken just a second later than this?

    Keep it up!

I get to go shoot a HS championship game tonight :hs: Im so busy with other stuff that I havent had much time to cover UL this year :wtc:

good advice as always, thanks adam.

these are almost all straight out of the camera, maybe they are a hair dark, it was my first time shooting a game on full manual mode, so I'll be careful to watch my histogram next time.

the reason none are cropped is so they can fit any newspaper layout, and i haven't had time to edit them at all so I just posted what i submitted to the paper. I definitely agree some could use a crop.

12 is dunk time, but i was shooting with an 80-200 right under the goal so 80 wasn't wide enough to get the dunk of it, as his head was above the rim and out of view :eek3:

Npnp. Theyre all solid stuff. And please dont think Im being negative when I critique. I always look for the wrong things in pictures. Its just the way I am. And even then, its just my opinion.

But 80 too tight for a dunk? Are you sitting STRAIGHT under the basket? I just wouldnt think there would be a big difference between 70 and 80mm.

    .

So you find 200mm of reach on a crop body enough for sideline shooting sports?

It all depends on what shot youre going for. 70-200 is pretty much the cornerstone basketball lens. It will give you all the basic shots. If youre looking for super tight stuff though, obviously youll need something longer.

I bring the 70-200 to every BK game I shoot. Sometimes, Ill bring a 300.
