Hey guys, relatively new member here, anyways:

I've been looking at 2Gs recently, i've been finding a couple and i love how they look, and modded they are just droool:yum: .

I know someone with a 2G, his runs fine no probs, but i hear from other people that they aren't very reliable.

Also the whole crankwalking bullshit, the one im currently looking at has 40k miles, mint GSX 1999. And ive heard symptons can still show at 60k or so.

What is the % that you get a motor that crankwalks?

And a good friend of mine said with about 2 grand or so you can get the car clean in the mid 13s or so, with a big16g fuel mods and other stuff.

thanks alot for the help! Maybe i can get one!:x:

Bah dont worry about the [IMG]. Buy a 6 bolt motor and ECU and put it in your garage. IF the 7 bolt does walk, replace it.

yea do the 6 bolt motor swap. but you dont need the computer, just research some on the net and you will see how to wire up the harness to work with the 1g CAS with the 2g ECU, its fairly easy to understand and do.

    I'm on a budget really.

was just in a very bad car crash a month or two ago. I dont know if i can afford a swap as of now. i might just do mods like intake exhaust big16g some fuel mods and some other shit to make me somewhat hit 13s and then if i start crankwalking i can swap the motor.

Crankwalk is HIGHLY overrated. There is a 99.9% chance it will not happen. Do not worry about, especially in a 99. With good tuning that B16G will get you deep into the 12's

Just go with the basic mods, intake and exhaust. There are alot of free mods you can do on a 2G, just go to vfaq.com read a lil and have fun. Good luck with your dsm. BTW, here is my DSM http://www.cardomain.com/id/spyderfyghter

A used 6 bolt can be had for around 600 bucks. It's not a huge investment.

There's a 8-10% chance of cwalk. 99's have 3 piece thrust bearings, which are a bit nicer, so it's a bit less likely the pre 98's.
