    What is needed to dry fire properly? I want to dry fire some to help develop proper technique, but I've never really done it.

    I've heard you need a snap cap to prevent damage to the firing pin or something like that. :dunno:

    I have a USPc, if that makes any difference.

    I dry fire without snap caps. I do like to keep an unloaded mag in the pistol to keep the weight closer to what it would be when carried. Using that site is a hoot, I was surprised at how fast I improved with consistent practice.
