Any DnB nuts here? I want to add to my collection and am looking for some people who know of any good dark/jungle/heavy DnB for me.

So far I've got Dillinja, High Contrast, Pendulum, Ram, Logistics, London Elektricity, Noisia.

Only about 1-2 albums from each :wtc: Can anyone tell me of some good DnB albums to "buy" please?:x:

Evol Intent and Dieselboy are missing from your list!

Dieselboy's latest compilation, The Human Resource, contains a second CD that is a special mix by Evol Intent and it is truly awesome.

x3 on Evol Intent, and x2 on the Dieselboy. I loved The Dungeonmaster's Guide, was pretty good, IMO.

nice to see all the u.s dnb heads bigging up their own evol intent. sadly he's off the radar for a lot of uk drum lovers. well seems that way according to the nights he's booked for (and their attendance) here in the uk. evol intent for me is dnb personified. chase and status/counterstrike/nosia are also the way forward.

Bit of a late bump, but I'll add the following to check out:

Break, Silent Witness, SKC, Tactile, State of Mind, Concord Dawn, The Upbeats, Telemetrik, Culture Shock, Survival, D-Bridge, Icicle, Commix

Not all heavy/dark stuff, but a good mix of styles.

Might want to go to a record shop website and listen to clips of stuff that is coming out. I'd recommend hitting www.chemical-records.co.uk and listen to new releases and forthcoming stuff. Can also hear clips of stuff being released on MP3 at www.beatport.com.

A little. Ed Rush & Optical and Dillinja all do almost strictly dancefloor stuff now, same with Moving Fusion (just one guy now too), it's not like the old late 90's - early 00's techstep stuff. Also, I'm under the impression Hype and Zinc are not cool with each other anymore, but I could be wrong. Hype still has True Playaz and does his show on KISS FM, and Zinc has his Bingo label and has his hands in a lot of other music genres.

And Dom & Roland are kind of broken up... Dom mainly uses software for production nowadays. Roland is just collecting dust, probably.

yeah, i love that older style of techstep/neuro.
A lot of artists i hear nowdays dont really do it for me. Any ideas on more contemporary artists pushing that kind of sound?

It's kind of all over the place nowadays, IMO. That techstep/neuro era was sick, and a lot of the music still sounds fresh when I listen to it. As far as new people, of the people I mentioned before, maybe check out Break, Silent Witness, SKC, The Upbeats, Telemetrik (my friend Marcio, has an album coming out this winter on Black Sun Empire), Culture Shock, Survival, D-Bridge, Icicle and Commix.

Some of their stuff will fit what you're looking for, but a lot of it might be too deep/purely drum'n'bass sounding. You might like Optiv (of Cause 4 Concern, who are back together), Psidream (has some great releases and upcoming stuff), some of Pacific's stuff (he's been slow on new releases, but his stuff from 2004 to 2006 sounds very influenced by older Matrix tunes), Noisia (kids love the Noisia), ummm, Black Sun Empire. There is a lot of neuro type stuff coming out of Russia and Germany. Maybe check out beatport.com or breakbeat.co.uk to listen to what the mp3 sites are selling nowadays.

I guess you all don't know about Roland. It's Dom's sampler. And he mainly works on his computer nowadays, not so much using the sampler.

Was just a bad dnb joke.
