I recently decided I needed to make some drastic changes in my life (get clean/sober etc).

I've noticed a huge reduction in my attraction to men since then, and while I have better performance in bed sober, I find myself picturing women or watching straight/bisexual porn to get off.

    I'm at a loss here.

Could the drugs have been responsible for my attraction to men?

I've classified myself as bisexual for a long time, but the amount of "gayness" I'm feeling is waning.

    :hs:

If drugs could turn str8 men gay I would have a kilo of blow waiting for Travis.

Hard to essplain that one. I guess you would need to see if you liked sex with men while you were sober.

I'd say the most logical answer is your somewhat ashamed of your man attraction and find it much easier to lower you inhibitions while drunk or on drugs.

Also, you've probably developed a positive association with drugs and men after combining the two for so long. Since they're linked, it's more difficult to enjoy one without the other.

it's easier for us all to lower our inhibitions and share what we are really feeling, when we are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Chances are, there is some shame associated with your sexuality... so you've used drugs/alcohol to try to overcome that shame... and express your desires.

But, the fact is, you cannot change your desires. Yes, you can choose not to act on those desires (as many have done in the "ex-gay" movement), but being sober doesn't change what makes you hard... or what makes you horny.

I think getting clean and sober is a fantastic idea, though, and I certainly support you 100000% in that goal.

And when you get clean/sober, and you are still struggling with your homosexuality, we're here to help/listen and provide support and advice.

Its not that I don't like sex when I'm sober, I guess it might be more being so used to smooth and soft, and while I might be attracted to a guy and sexually turned on I still subconsciously desire a more feminine type of person. When I was using I preferred to bottom, but since I've been sobering up its become much more vers/top.

I was thinking about this a lot today and I came to the same conclusion. As you know, I am versitle as well, but when im drunk and such, I get off on bottoming too. Not sure why.

Anywho, I think the drugs take away the akwardness which is why you feel more comfortable with it.

Also the only times I really get into sex is if I really like/love the person. If its just a random hookup I feel like its just jacking off.

And I've had a LOT of random hookups male and female.

I want a relationship, but I'm scared of them as I've been very hurt with every relationship I've ever been in.

I've never had a serious relationship with a man.
